Carl Restivo is an American musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and sound engineer. His unique abilities as a lead singer and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards) have landed him spots on tour with Rihanna , Tom Morello's Freedom Fighter Orchestra supporting The Nightwatchman, Perry Farrell's Satellite Party, and Street Sweeper Social Club which toured with Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction.[1]

As a producer/writer/arranger, Restivo’s skills with multiple instruments and genres have led to some of his most significant professional accomplishments. Restivo co-wrote the song "Go All The Way (Into The Twilight)" with Perry Farrell which was released on the Twilight soundtrack. The soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy and has sold 2.5 million copies worldwide. Restivo also co-wore the song “Underground” which was Jane’s Addiction’s #1 track on their album “The Great Escape Artist”. His song “The Promised Land” can be heard in the end credits of Martin Scorsese’s film Revenge of the Green Dragons set to be released Fall 2014. Restivo recently finished the in game music for Sony’s Playstation 4 game “Infamous: Second Son”. Most recently, he scored projects for the FX including their campaign for the upfronts as well as their advertising for the FX Movie Channel.

Working hand-in-hand Wyclef Jean, Restivo had a special creative influence in helping to develop and record Jean’s The Preacher’s Son album. Restivo and Jean co-wrote the song “Linda” for the record and Restivo was one of the featured artists, an honor he shared with the likes of Carlos Santana, Missy Elliott, Redman) and other major artists. Carl Restivo played the acoustic (rhythm and lead) guitar on the smash hit “Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean. He has also recorded, produced and/or written songs with Perry Farrell, Tom Morello, Jerry Wonda, 50 Cent, Nuno Bettencourt, Mick Mars, Dug Pinnick, Steve Perry, Patti LaBelle, Big Pun, Kurupt, Xzibit.

As a guest artist, Restivo has contributed as a lead guitarist and vocalist with Wyclef Jean and The Ed Palermo Big Band, as a bassist and background vocalist with Extreme. Restivo has also performed lead vocals and/or guitar or bass with such artists as Rihanna, Tom Morello, Slash, Ben Harper, Trent Reznor, Billy Idol, Taio Cruz from Angels Stadium to England at BBC’s Radio 1’s Big Weekend Festival to a crowd of 70,000 people, Jason Derulo, Jerry Cantrell, Stewart Copeland, Steve Vai, Jason Bonham, Travis Barker, Flea, Dave Navarro, Jackson Browne, Sammy Hagar, Iggy Pop, Robbie Krieger, Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, Graham Nash, Deborah Harry, Gilby Clarke, Peter DiStefano, Stephen Perkins, Cypress Hill, Joe Satriani, Wayne Kramer, AFI, Napoleon Murphy Brock, and Mike Keneally.

Restivo is a graduate of NYU and in 2006 he moved from NY to Los Angeles to work as the Music Director of the new Paul Green School of Rock in Hollywood, California at the request of Paul Green himself. Carl left the school in 2010 after 100 shows and he co-founded The Rock School Scholarship Fund, a 501(c)3 charity to pay tuition for financially needy students at qualifying rock music schools. [2]
