Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre is a 2005 pornographic horror comedy film released by Wicked Pictures. The film, originally released on September 14, 2005, is the first adult film to be released on the HD DVD format.[2][3]

Plot

The film is a comedic parody of horror films of its time, with a cross between The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Friday the 13th with Kristen (Daniels) and Megan (Drake) playing college students planning to attend a concert. After they hit a homeless man with their car, the girls and their friends are systematically murdered.[4][5]

Cast

Production

According to the writers, the film had the Scary Movie series in mind when creating the film, stating that they "took all these little famous parts from all of these horror movies blended it with comedy and wrapped it with great sex."[1]

The film is Wicked Pictures' biggest release. The DVD release of the film comes on three high definition discs, which includes 5.1 surround sound, a commentary track, a documentary film about the production, and a cartoon with the voice acting of Stormy.[1]

In the commentary for the film Hatchet, the director mentions that they shared a set with this film at the Sable Ranch location. Hatchet was a night shoot, and this film would shoot during the day as the Hatchet crew slept. Some features of the set (like the Spanish moss) were put in place for Hatchet and kept for this film.

Reception

A horror movie critic wrote:

...although Daniels has the perfect swollen-sweater-girl look as the blonde ditz, it’s Drake who steals the show as her snarkier and more sensible companion. Among the men, veterans Randy Spears and Mike Horner have both made quite a reputation for their acting within the adult community — in both serious and humorous roles, sex and nonsex — and are as entertaining as expected. Meanwhile, Eric Masterson, the nominal male lead, plays a nebbishy film geek well, and Voodoo has a memorable comic turn as a jock/would-be tough guy.[4]

DVDTalk rated the extras on the DVD set as "probably the best of ANY release, bar none, in terms of unique related content" and considers it "as amazing a DVD release as you're going to find."[6]

The film has received positive reviews in the adult film community, with DVD Empire giving it a positive review, noting that the film "has a good time making fun of the horror genre, while giving fans 10 full-length sex scenes in its 2½ hour running time" and RogReviews.com giving it an A+ rating.[1]
