CHA University, School of Medicine is the medical school in Pangyo, South Korea. It was founded in 1999 by Dr. Kwang-Yul Cha,[1] who is a world-renowned scientist in reproductive medicine and the owner of Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles,[2] which is an affiliated hospital of Keck School of Medicine of USC. Along with the foundation of the medical school, Dr.Cha has also founded multiple medical and educational institutions such as CHA Medical Centers in Gangnam, Bundang, and Gumi; Daegu CHA Women's Hospital; and finally CHA University.[1] Each class in the four-year MD program has approximately 40 students.

Rankings

As an effort to recruit competitive students, the medical school decided to offer guaranteed full-ride academic scholarship upon admission for the majority of students, which gained immense popularity among premed college graduates.[3] Meanwhile there is no reliable ranking system for medical schools in Korea, the medical school was the highest in medical schools in the nation in 2006 when it comes to MEET scores, which is equivalent to MCAT in the Unites States despite its short history.[4] It is also known that its graduates have the highest pass rate in Korea Medical Licensing Exam (KMLE)[3]
