Bunbury Catholic College is a Catholic high school for young men and women from Year 7 to 12. It is located in Bunbury, Western Australia. The college comes from the Marist and Mercy orders and was formed after the amalgamation of St Francis Xavier’s College (Marist Brothers) and St Josephs College (Mercy Sisters) in 1973.

The college caters for around 1000 students on a large campus in Bunbury.

In 2015, a second campus was built in the nearby suburb of Australind; this campus is commonly known as the Mercy campus. The campus name is derived from the Sisters of Mercy, who co-founded the school.[3]

History

The Bishop of Bunbury mandated the administration of Bunbury Catholic College to the Catholic Education Commission in 1973. The college developed from the amalgamation of St Francis Xavier College (Marist Brothers) and St Joseph’s School (Mercy Sisters). The Commission fosters the continuous development and improvement of Catholic schools, acts on behalf of the Catholic community and determines major policy.
