He was subsequently released by the Riders on June 18, 2008. Prior to this, he went unpicked in the 2007 NFL Draft. After which, he signed as a free agent with the Tennessee Titans. Collegiately Stratton was a linebacker for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.[1]

He went to Theodore Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, Texas where he excelled in Academics and Athletics. With fellow NFL player Carlyle Holiday, the two were the only freshmen to make the varsity football team in High School. In wrestling Stratton was undefeated and won the state wrestling title (189-pounds) as a junior.
