Borja made his first team - and La Liga - debut on 27 August 2011, playing the last 21 minutes in a 3–4 away defeat against Valencia CF.[1] He continued to appear regularly with the B-side, however, and was released in 2013.

In October 2013 Borja joined Tercera División side SCR Peña Deportiva.[2] On 24 January of the following year he moved to Ontinyent CF in the third level.[3]

On 5 August 2014 Borja moved to Real Avilés, also in the third division.[4] He remained in the category in the following years, representing UD Logroñés and Lorca FC.
