blu eCigs is an electronic cigarette company, founded in Charlotte, North Carolina, US in 2009[1] and is currently owned by Imperial Brands plc.[2] Its founder, Jason Healy, called blu "a lifestyle brand for smokers".[3]

History

From April 2012 until July 2014 blu eCigs was owned by Lorillard Tobacco Company,[4] when Lorillard was purchased by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company blu eCigs was sold to Imperial Tobacco as part of a 7.1bn deal between Reynolds Tobacco and Imperial Tobacco.[5]

blu eCigs was developed by Jason Healy and is the second most popular e-cigarette brand with sales of 23.6% dollar, 17.3% unit.[6][7]

Operations

blu eCigs closed their Edinburgh site in 2015 putting jobs at risk.[8]

Research

blu eCigs were used in the health study involving 30 other e-cig brands.[9]
