Big Brother Brasil 3 was the third season of Big Brother Brasil which premiered January 14, 2003 with the season finale airing April 1, 2003 on the Rede Globo television network.

The show was produced by Endemol Globo and presented by news reporter Pedro Bial and directed by Jose Bonifacio Brasil de Oliveira. The prize award was R$500,000 without tax allowances.

The winner was 31-year-old congressional aide André "Dhomini" Ferreira from Goiânia, Goiás [1]

Dhomini returned to compete in Big Brother Brasil 13.

Overview

There were fourteen Housemates competing for the grand prize, an increase over the two previous seasons. The season lasted 78 days, an increase of one week over the previous season. This season introduced the "Angel Power" or "Power of Immunity".

Controversy

Among the contestants was the Miss Brasil 2002, Joseane Oliveira. Rules of the Miss Brasil contest forbid participation of married women, and when Joseane participated, she stated she was single. Due to the overexposition in the BBB, some magazines discovered she was married since before winning the beauty contest. The marriage being proved, Joseane was stripped of her crown, and Thaisa Tomsem was crowned Miss Brasil 2002.

Also, contestant Dilson, not knowing Joseane was married, tried to start a romantic relationship with her during the show. Due to her refusals, he felt unmotivated and left the show voluntairly. Harry replaced him at January 26, and became the first contestant not to enter the show at the first day.

Reunion Show

The reunion was hosted by Pedro Bial and aired on April 6, 2003. All the former housemates, except Dilson, attended. Alan ended up winning the "Big Boss Prize" which awarded R$50,000. He won over Andrea with 86% of the fans' vote.[2]

After the Show

Sabrina Sato became a personality on the country. She hosts a popular comedy show "Panico na Tv" which premiered in 2003 and has a big audiencie at channel Rede TV!. Juliana Alves starred in some Rede Globo's prime-time soaps operas in 2007 entitled "Duas Caras" and in 2009 another called "Caminho das Índias". Both are one of the biggest celebrities coming out of the show.

Voting history

The voting table below records whom each housemate voted to nominate on the diary room during his or her time in the House. The Head of Household (HOH) vote (cast in front of the other housemates) automatically nominates one housemate from eviction.   • Note 1: At the first round of nominations there were two separate rounds of nominations - one in which males nominated the females, and one in which the females nominated the males. On Day 8 there was a double eviction - with the female and male evictees leaving the House. This Week's HoH Elane could only exercise her powers during the male Nominations round.
