Bhangalan (ਭੰਗਾਲਾਂ) is a small village in Balluana constituency of Punjab Legislative Assembly and Firozpur constituency of Parliament of India. It is located in the Abohar Block of the Fazilka Distt., 42 km from the India-Pakistan border, and 6 km off the National Highway 7 (India). Bhangalan has two distinct regions: Bhangal Patti and Gill Patti (also known as Jhorar Patti or Jhorar Gill). The Gill families come from Gurusar (also known as Gurusar Ghagga) near Giddarbaha.
Demographics
According to the 2011 Indian Census, Bhangalan had a population of 2,451 people distributed throughout 478 households. According to the 2016 report, with 1689 voters in total (922 Male, 767 Female), there were 1,268 men and 1,183 women. 272 children aged 0–6 years were also recorded among the population. The village of Bhangalan has a low literacy rate compared to some other parts of Punjab, with an average literacy rate of 63.52%: male literacy being 71.98%, and female literacy being 54.50%. The overall literacy rate in Punjab state is 75.84 percent as per 2011 population census; the male literacy stands at 80.44 percent while female literacy is at 70.73 percent. Most Bhangalan villagers are subsistence farmers.[1]
Development
Bhangalan is equipped with its own municipal water supply, reverse osmosis plant and a Nestle Dairy. While Bhangalan has its own Government Middle School and the Saint Farid Public School (Private), it lacks a high school, hospital, bank, or public playground. Currently, many local political officials are working to help develop the village.

The Youth Sports Welfare Club is a small club found within the village. Rassa Kashi is well-known as a sport in Bhangalan. Other popular sports include Kabaddi, cricket, football, and volleyball.

Bhangala's temperature generally ranges from 4.1 °C to 39.9 °C (39.4 °F to 103.8 °F) in a typical year. January and May are the coldest and the warmest months, respectively. It has the most rain in August with 169.9 mm. The driest month is December with 8.9 mm of rain.
