Bayan Fenwick (born 16 November 1993) is a professional footballer, currently playing for Torquay United.

Career

Fenwick was born on 16 November 1993 in Eastbourne. He played football for St. Bede's School, where he was in the six a side team that won the ISFA National Six-a-Side Tournament.[1] He then played for the Lewes under 18 team. He is 1.83 metres (6 ft 0 in) tall and weighs 76 kilograms (168 lb).[2]

On 1 March 2012, Dougie Freedman signed up the 18-year-old for Crystal Palace.[3] Gary Isott, coach of the Crystal Palace youth team, said, "Fenwick ... has got terrific dead-ball quality from free-kicks and corners."[4] In August 2012, Freedman was quoted as saying Fenwick was unlikely to make it into the first team that season. He said, "I think the young kid is committed and he's eager, but his game can improve in terms of the tactical side and physically as well."[5] Fenwick played 12 games for Crystal Palace's under-21 team in the 2012–13 season and scored 3 goals and 4 assists.[2] He played some games on loan to Eastbourne Borough towards the end of the season. Manager Tommy Widdrington thought that he had made a good initial impression,[6] and soon after joining, Fenwick and Alex Wynter helped secure Eastbourne Borough a 2-1 victory over Hayes & Yeading.[7] In June 2013 Fenwick was one of six academy players released by the club.[8]

Fenwick spent a short time training with Cardiff City.[9] In the 2013–14 season he played 5 games for Cardiff under 21 and scored one assist.[2] Fenwick then played with various east coast teams.[9] Transfers after Crystal Palace were to Lewes (21 October 2013), Three Bridges (1 December 2013) and Bishop's Stortford (23 December 2014).

Fenwick was given a trial by Boston United in January 2015."[10] In February 2015, Fenwick joined Peacehaven & Telscombe. Peacehaven manager Tony Coade said, "We have been missing a player like Bayan. He has that little bit of quality with an eye for a goal. ... It's a real boost for us."[11] Later that month Fenwick was sent off late in a game on his debut for the team against Lewes.[12]

Fenwick joined Torquay United on 23 July 2015. He had played with them in pre-season.[13] Football director Dean Edwards noted that Paul Cox was impressed with his passing ability and attitude.[14]
