Ballekere

Ballekere is a village near Kadur of Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka, India.

Ballekere is one of the developing village in Kadur. This village is known in Kadur taluk for very famous temple called "Anjaneyaswami Temple" which is located about 700 metres from the village.People often believed this God as "Powerful" as their ancestors believed.[1]

Former Prime Minister Indhira Ghandhi visited to this village during her election campaign in Chickmagaluru where she contested election from this constituency after emergency.[2]

Agriculture

The main occupation of the people is agriculture with main crops are Ragi, Jowar, Groundnut, Sunflower i.e. less water consuming crops are preferred by the farmers since the farming practices of the people is rainfed agriculture.

Transport

The village is well connected by road and train.[3] Ballekere is about 7 km away from Kadur.
