Bahu was a social networking website, launched on April 2007 for Belgian and French students initially. On September 2007, Bahu opened to international by adding English, Spanish, Polish, Lithuanian, Russian, Italian, Dutch, German, and Portuguese languages.[2][3] The site had more than 1,000,000 mostly European users as of July, 2008.[4]

The site was free to users. They created profiles that often contained photos and lists of personal interests, exchanged private or public messages, and joined groups of friends. They shared their lives with friends, communicated around passions and discovered new talents. The owners of the site created a Twitter like site known as Sofamous
