Aurora Peak

Aurora Peak (67°23′S 144°12′E / 67.383°S 144.200°E / -67.383; 144.200Coordinates: 67°23′S 144°12′E / 67.383°S 144.200°E / -67.383; 144.200) is a peak 535 metres (1,755 ft) high along the west side of the Mertz Glacier, 4 miles (6 km) south of Mount Murchison. It was discovered by the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911–14) under Douglas Mawson who named it after the expedition ship Aurora.
