Augusto Martínez Sánchez (1923-2013) was Cuban politician and military leader who served a number of major posts in Cuban government.

While serving as Minister of Labor, in 1964 he was removed from the position by Fidel Castro because of strong allegations of corruption.[1] On December 8, 1964 he committed a failed attempt of suicide and after that never returned to public life.
