The Atlantis Group is a group of companies based in Reading, England which was formed in 2000 by John Sykes. The group has expanded rapidly.

Corporate structure

The current holding company of the group is Atlantis Group Limited, incorporated in the United Kingdom and registered at Companies House under number 09581691.[1]

Expansion

In 2008, Atlantis acquired the surveyors Chilvers Page.[2] The company has also opened a number of additional offices outside Reading.

Since 2011, Atlantis has significantly expanded its investment property portfolio with the purchase of 118 ground rent units and a number of residential and commercial property investments, including the acquisition of the Old Post Office in Reading for £2.2m, the Kings Walk Shopping Centre in Reading for £3m and the Trident Shopping Centre in Dudley for £3.25m. More recently in 2015 Atlantis acquired £5.2m of commercial property including The George Shopping Centre in Grantham. To date in 2016 the company has acquired a large residential portfolio and further commercial investments totalling £7.2m The current portfolio has a total value of £52m.

Memberships

Atlantis Estates Ltd. is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors [3]the Association of Residential Managing Agents[4] and Ombudsman Services: Property (previously known as the Surveyors Ombudsman Service).[5]

Sponsorships

The company sponsors and pays all administrative expenses of the John Sykes Foundation,[6] a charity centred on helping to transform lives in Reading. Registered charity number 1156623.
