Asphalt Xtreme is a racing video game, published and developed by Gameloft and the second spinoff in the Asphalt series. The first off-road racing iteration in the series, it was released on October 27, 2016.

Development

The game is rumoured to have the same physics engine as Asphalt 8: Airborne and Asphalt Nitro. Asphalt Xtreme is an off-road racing game in the Asphalt series. In the Asphalt 8 update, in Rio, appears a billboard with a poster of Asphalt Xtreme.[1][2]

Gameplay

The video game features a lineup of rally cars, monster trucks and a vast amount of snowy tracks and dirt. The visual interface, angular camera view and vehicular design of the game have a strong visual resemblance to the MotorStorm video game series.

While the controls are the same as the previous Asphalt games, the nitro mechanics are different. Normally, there are three nitro "Segments", and using Extra nitro booster, the number of segments are increased to four. Perfect nitro is renamed as long nitro. Triple nitro activates all three or four bars at the same time for added speed. The Extra Nitro Booster lasts for 10 minutes as compared to in Asphalt 8, which lasts 4 hours. When the race starts, the vehicles are given 2 segments from the get go.

Cars and Locations

There are thirty-five licensed cars available initially in Asphalt Xtreme. The cars are divided into five classes and seven categories, and their performance is determined by the Rank rating feature, carried over from Asphalt 8. These cars include the Predator X-18 Intimidator (Buggy; Class D), the Land Rover Defender (SUV; Class D), the Volkswagen Polo R (Rally Car; Class C), the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD (Pickup; Class C), the Chevrolet 3100 Pickup (Monster Truck; Class B), the MAN TGX D38 (Truck; Class A), and the Dodge Challenger SRT8 (Muscle Car; Class S).

Asphalt Xtreme features five different locations at the release, as well as seven more locations to be added through updates. Each location features multiple tracks. The locations available initially are Gobi (Mongolia), Phuket (Thailand), Nile Valley (Egypt), Svalbard (Norway), and Detroit (USA).

Soundtrack

Just like Asphalt 8, Asphalt Xtreme features a collection of licensed soundtracks.
