Arthur Rubinfeld is Chief Creative Officer and President, Global Innovation and Starbucks Reserve for Starbucks Coffee and Founder of Airvision. Rubinfeld holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado. He has completed an executive program in finance and accounting from the University of Washington. Rubinfeld has been recognized by Business Week as one of the top "Candidates for the Corner Office" in their "CEOs of Tomorrow."[1] and Seattle Business Magazine's Executive Excellence Award for Innovation.

Starbucks Coffee career

Rubinfeld, as an executive, helped build Seattle based coffee company Starbucks Coffee. Rubinfeld joined in 1992 and expanded the company worldwide until his departure in 2002. During this timeframe, recognized as one of Starbuck's most important development period, Rubinfeld was Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Store Development.[2] In January 2000, Rubinfeld was named Executive Vice President of the Starbucks Corporation.[3] He left Starbucks in 2002. Upon the request of Howard Schultz, Rubinfeld returned to the company in 2008 as President, Global Development. Rubinfeld supported the transformation of Starbucks Coffee by creating LEED certified design concepts that reinvigorated the Starbucks' customer experience. His oversight in the building and expansion of Starbucks Coffee globally established Starbucks into one of the most recognizable brands in the world.[4]

AIRVISION

Rubinfeld founded Airvision, an advisory firm that focuses on retail positioning and brand development, in 2002. AIRVISION, "ideates, creates and executes" growth strategies for multiple retail channel development. This includes retail stores, web and catalogue in industries ranging from all categories of retail, restaurant /food service, financial services, and manufacturing."[5] Airvision's clients include companies such as adidas, Oakley, Microsoft, Blue C Sushi, Omaha Steaks, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Cricket Communications.[6]

Built For Growth

In 2005, Prentice Hall/Wharton School Publishing published Rubinfeld's book with Collins Hemingway titled Built for Growth - Expanding Your Business Around the Corner or Across the Globe. Published in six languages, Built for Growth focused on Rubinfeld's knowledge of effectively developing and expanding businesses. Built for Growth gave a look into Rubinfeld's knowledge of what makes a brand successful in the form of both concrete and abstract advice. The Financial Times describes Built for Growth's biggest keynote as "the struggle between two visions of the retail future - "the death spiral of commoditisation and price wars or the life spiral of creativity, quality and differentiation."[7] Kirkus Reports also praised the book's value stating, "Rubinfeld delivers serious value for money here, and small business owners and managers would do well to take advantage of it."[8]
