Antara Banerjee is an Indian film and television actress, who appeared in the film The Shaukeens and the television series Gumrah: End of Innocence.[2]

Personal life

Banerjee, the only daughter of Subrata and Atasi Banerjee, a Bengali couple from Kolkata, came to Mumbai in 2013 to pursue her ambition to become an actress. Haaving had to leave school post-grade 12, she began a correspondence course in English Literature from Mumbai University and a BSW (Bachelor in Social Work) from Nirmala Niketan College. A kathak dancer for the past 15 years, Banerjee has done several stage shows in Kolkata and has learned classical singing.

Banerjee has summed up her philosophy in the words, “Do the job you like, enjoy your life but never give up your work. If work is fun, if your days are passing quickly, you must be happy, right?”[3]

Career

[4] Banerjee rose to fame with Balaji Telefilms teenage crime show, '‘Gumrah’' and Life OK’s Savadhaan India, followed by several other shows on television and a cameo role in The Shaukeens. She made her Bollywood debut with the drama Yeh Hain India.[5][6][7] After appearing with Akshay Kumar in The Shaukeens in 2014, she appeared opposite Bigg Boss 2 and Roadies 5 winner Ashutosh Kaushik.[8][9]
