Anoratha is a genus of moths of the Erebidae family.

Description

Palpi porrect, with extremely long second joint with a downward curve, its upperside fringed with scales. Third joint long and depressed. Thorax and abdomen smoothly scaled. Abdomen very long in male. Fore wings with costa arched towards apex, which is produced and acute, more so in the male than the female. The outer margin excurved at middle, especially in male. Hind wings with veins 3 and 4 on a short stalk. vein 5 from the middle of discocellulars. The outer margin excised towards anal angle in male.[1]
