Andersonville Theological Seminary

Andersonville Theological Seminary is a Christian seminary located in Camilla, Georgia. It was founded in 1981, and today has over 7,000 enrolled students, and over 30,000 graduates.[1]

Academic programs

The school does not have a traditional campus, but offers instruction through books and courses that are recorded on audio MP3 CDs. The school is affiliated with the Institute of Theological Studies (ITS). As an affiliate, ATS can offer courses from ITS by way of audio CD MP3 format.

The seminary offers an associate degree in Biblical Studies, and bachelor's degrees in Biblical Studies, Ministry, Christian Counseling (Non-Professional), and Christian Education (Non-Professional): It offers master's degrees in Old Testament Studies, New Testament Studies, Biblical Languages, Theology, Pastoral Leadership, Christian Counseling (Non-Professional), Biblical Counseling (Non-Professional), and Christian Education. Additionally, the seminary offers Doctorates in Christian Counseling (Non-Professional), Christian Education (Non-Professional), Ministry, Theology, Biblical Counseling (Non-Professional), and Biblical Studies.

Degrees issued by ATS in Counseling and Education can not be used to gain state licensure.

National Christian Counselors Association

NCCA is a Non recognized origination that issues "licenses" for pastoral counselors. These "licenses" and "certifications" are not recognized in any state to perform counseling services. Members work under a religious exemption to perform religion based counseling.

Accreditation

Although Andersonville currently holds no recognized form of accreditation by the USDE or CHEA, on November 5, 2015 Andersonville Theological Seminary did announce that the school was working towards accreditation with the Association for Biblical Higher Education (AHBE).[2] Andersonville subsequently began the process of evaluating their programs and gathering data from students and alumni. In November 2016, Andersonville announced adjustments to their degree programs that would take effect on January 1, 2017. Andersonville Theological Seminary has been chartered by the State of Georgia as a non-profit Christian seminary and has been approved by the Georgia Non-public Postsecondary Education Commission for religious exemption at 2082 East Exchange Place in Tucker, GA 30094-5305.

Andersonville Theological Seminary is an affiliate institution of the Association for Biblical Higher Education. Affiliate status does not, however, imply, or presume ABHE accredited status at the present or in the future.[3]

Andersonville Theological Seminary has been chartered by the State of Georgia as a non-profit Christian seminary and has been approved by the Georgia Non-public Postsecondary Education Commission for religious exemption at 2082 East Exchange Place in Tucker, GA 30094-5305.

Andersonville Theological Seminary has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt 501-C3 seminary.

Andersonville Theological Seminary is a member of the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA). Andersonville Theological Seminary is listed with USDLA as a non-profit organization.

Andersonville Theological Seminary is a member of the Association of Christian Distance Education (ACCESS).
