American Society of Registered Nurses

The American Society of Registered Nurses (ASRN) was founded in May 2003 for the purpose of bringing together professional nurses interested in creating a nursing "society" which is defined as "A group of humans broadly distinguished from other groups by mutual interests, participation in characteristic relationships, shared institution, and a common culture".

This new Society brings together nurses from all fields of inquiry, regions, and specializations both inside and outside academia to expand the study and practice of nursing, and offer support, representation, education, and distinction to its members. The Society serves nurses in all 50 states as well as across the globe.
