Amanera

Amanera is located at Playa Grande, Dominican Republic, Caribbean.[1][2] Playa Grande is centrally located in the heart of the Caribbean, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, between the beach towns of Rio San Juan and Cabrera, in a area of lush vegetation, enriched by a changing palette of green and blue, rolling hills and the Atlantic Ocean.[3][4]

History

Christopher Columbus arrived in the Dominican Republic in 1492, describing the island as the most beautiful land that human eyes had ever seen. The Resort

Amanera is the first golf-integrated Aman in the world, the first Aman in the Dominican Republic, and one of the few resorts in the Caribbean offering luxury villas for sale.[8][9] The resort encompasses a 25-pavilion Aman Hotel and Spa, including 24 single suites and one 2 bedroom hotel villa. Rental Program

Owners can but are not obliged to place their Villa in the rental pool of the hotel.[5][2]

Beach Club

Amanera Villa owners and guests of the hotel can also enjoy exclusive use of the Beach Club situated on a private, sandy corner of Playa Grande’s mile-long stretch of beach.[4] Amanera cascades down to the Beach Club, which features dining facilities, lounge areas, and a kids club, allowing guests of all ages to relax, play and enjoy the beach.[1][15]

Spa & Health Club

Yoga and meditation sessions, pilates, 2 treatment rooms, as well as a fully equipped gym, personal training and energy healing are available.[13][16]

Service and Amenities

Deep-sea fishing, boating, surfing, bird-watching expeditions, nature watching, watersports, tennis, scuba diving, hiking, biking, and extensive horseback riding trails are on offer, library, cigar bar and a boutique.[17] Amanera is located 45 minutes away from Cabarete, a world kite-surfing capital.[13]

The Golf Course

Spread over 370 acres of picturesque coastline, the world class Playa Grande Golf Course, designed by celebrated architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr., is known as the “Pebble Beach of the Caribbean”.[18] With 10 holes playing directly on ocean cliffs, it stands as the course with the most ocean holes in the entire western hemisphere. This 7,085-yard course stretches along the coastline, providing amazingly open vistas, cliff-side fairways, and sloping greens.[14][17]

Transportation

The nearest airport to Playa Grande is Puerto Plata (POP) approximately an hour’s drive from the resort.[17] The Resort is also accessible from the Santo Domingo and Santiago international airports, both a two-hour drive from the site.[14]
