Amanat Ali (Punjabi, Urdu: امانت علی) (born 10 October 1987)[1] is a Pakistani singer, songwriter and actor. He was Born and raised in Faisalabad, Amanat Ali started receiving training in music from the early age of six from his well-known father Nazakat Ali who is a professional Ghazal and Folk Singer and Uncle Hassan Sadiq who is an internationally known Noha khuwan and his classical singing training from various members of his gharana.

Early life and background

Amanat Ali is a prominent member of the legendary "Sham Churasi Gharana". He was born in Faisalabad,[1] Pakistan. He is a film and TV singer. In 2007, he won the third place in the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge musical contest in India and has sung songs for Bollywood movies like Dostana (2008 film) and "Bal Ganesh".[2] His group consists of some of the most talented musicians in Pakistan.

Other projects

The 2013 the Pakistani movie Zinda Bhaag featured a song Kurri YES ai, Munda SET ai by Amanat. The movie went on to become a critical and commercial success and was eventually selected as Pakistan’s official entry for Oscars. Amanat Ali has featured on a number of soundtracks for various TV shows including Shaam (2009), Dil Ko Manana Aaya Nahin (2011) Hum Parindey (2012), Raju Rocket(2012) and Ishq Samander(2013).[3] Amanat has performed for various campaigns with his band across Pakistan. In 2015 he toured with Punjab Group with his full band. He also produced Maria Meer, who was rejeted by the judges of Pakistan Idol.[4]

Tours and Concerts

Amanat Ali and his band have performed numerous shows locally and internationally. He toured internationally for the first time with Atif Aslam, Kailash Kher and Richa Sharma in 2008. He then went on a solo tour of US & Canada from 2008-2009. He again toured US & Canada in 2012. Amanat Ali is also a popular performer in UAE, Norway and India. Amanat Ali performed at the Lux Style Awards 2012 in Pakistan as well.[1]

Musical Style

Besides receiving extensive training in classical music from Guru's, Amanat Ali can also play around 10 musical instruments which include tabla, harmonium, dholak, guitar, keyboard, piano, percussions, drums, Congo drums and pakhawaj (a type of dholak).[1]
