J. Mohamed Shanavas popularly called as Aloor shanavaz is an Indian politician from the state of Tamil Nadu.[1][2] He is a writer, Activist, Orator and currently he is holding the post of Deputy Secretary General of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal party.[3] Considered as one of the prominent youth face of Tamil Nadu politics, he rose to the position of Deputy general secretary of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal party at the age of 30.[4]

Personal life

Shanavaz was born into a middle class Muslim family from Kunnam, a small hamlet in the perambalur district of Tamil Nadu. He completed his school education and completed his diploma in journalism. Then he joined Viduthalai Chiruthaigal party and at very younger age he rose to the post of Deputy general secretary.

Political career

He started his career as just a politician working for Viduthalai Chiruthaigal party. But because of his skills he rose to prominence and became a key face of the party. He is working for the upliftment of depressed classes and minorities. He is a strong supporter of Thanthai. Periyar, Kayithe millath and B.R.Ambedkar. In his 30's he gathered people's support from various countries such as Malaysia, Kuwait, Abudhabi.[5] Later in Tamil Nadu assembly polls 2016 he became the youth face of the party, and contested in Kunnam constituency.[6] He received various awards from different civil societies and voluntary organisations for his social work. He received Best documentarian award for Nizhal Film, Young Media Activist award from Kuwait Tamil Islamic Committee, Ilam Pirai Award from Kuwait VCK, Young Writer Award-Bilalia Arabic College, Chennai.[7]
