Mir Mohammad Ali (میر محمد علی) or Ali Meer (علی میر) is a Pakistani comedian who appears in Khabarnaak on GEO News.[1] Ali is an expert in parody, and has parodied many famous celebrities including Asif Zardari, Pervez Musharraf, Raymond Davis, Maulana Fazl Ur Rehman. Mir Ali was also known as parody King he received the Pride of Performance Award in 2015 from President Mamnoon Hussain .

Ali gained popularity after he imitated Tariq Aziz on the Aiween Show. Ali claims that he can mimic any person after watching him/her for just 20 minutes.


Career

Mir Ali is son of former Minister Mir Ali Akbar of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Mir Ali started his career from a private TV Channel (Aaj TV) in Pakistan, for whom he produced cartoons.[2] Later, he joined 4 Man Show where he parodied different politicians and personalities of Pakistan. He worked with the same channel for five years, and later joined GEO TV on The Awaien Show. In 2010, when Aftab Iqbal joined GEO, Ali joined him on Khabarnaak. On 23 March 2015, Ali received Presidential Award for Pride of Performance from president Mamnoon Hussain.[3]

Mimicry style

Mir Mohammad Ali employs the comical style of mimicry. His presentations are full of hyperbole, hysteria and pratfalls. On some shows, he breaks character and assumes the role of another celebrity (while dressed as some other celebrity).
