Al-Shaheer Corporation is a public company and one of Pakistan's largest meat exporter.
Awards and certifications
Al-Shaheer Corporation has been awarded several international accreditations like the ISO 9001:2000 certification and the SAFE Food Award 2009 by URS for quality and hygiene. In 2009, Al Shaheer also won the first ‘Best Export Performance’ award for Fresh and Frozen Meat from the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Initial Public Offering
In June 2015, 18.75m shares of Al-Shaheer Co-operation were offered to large investors. Through the process of Book Building, the strike price of a share (having face value of Rs. 10) was settled at Rs. 95. This provoked a great discussion in Pakistani business and investment circles about the process of Book Building and the possibility of price manipulation inherent in the process, with many calling for a return to the Dutch Auction method of IPO.
