Aiza Maizo-Pontillas (born February 29, 1988) is a Filipino volleyball athlete. She was a member and team captain of the UAAP champion teams of the UST Golden Tigresses (2008-2010). She is currently the team captain of the Petron Tri-Activ Spikers and plays as an opposite hitter.
Education
Pontillas graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science in Food Technology.
Career
Maizo-Pontillas played with UST Growling Tigers, winning the UAAP Season 71 Best Attacker and the Best Scorer and Best Receiver for the UAAP Season 73. She also won the UAAP Championship from 2007 to 2011. With Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns Maizo-Pontillas won the Best Scorer and Season's Most Valuable Player[1] also winning the Final's Most Valuable Player of the Season 11, Reinforced Open Conference when her team won the league title.[2]
In the Shakey's V-League 12th Season Open Conference, Maizo-Pontillas helped Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns to reach the third place of the tournament.[3] She later won the Shakey's V-League 12th Season Reinforced Open Conference with PLDT Home Ultera Fast Hitters.[4] She was sidelined from the national team set to compete in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games,[5] but she was later hired as assistant coach for the games.[6] She played the 2016 Philippine Superliga Invitational Cup with Petron Tri-Activ Spikers having won the second place of the tournament and the Best Opposite Spiker individual award.[7]
