Adil Shamasdin (born May 23, 1982) is a Canadian professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He reached his highest doubles ranking of world no. 55 on April 20, 2015.

Career

Shamasdin's junior career saw him finish ranked no. 5 in singles and no. 1 in doubles in Canada. He currently plays with Philipp Oswald but has also played with Rameez Junaid, Philipp Marx, Peter Polansky, Daniel Chu, Fabrice Martin, Vasek Pospisil, Dustin Brown, Harsh Mankad and James Cerretani in the long term. Shamasdin has won two ATP World Tour doubles titles, in 2011 at the SA Tennis Open and in 2015 at the Grand Prix Hassan II.[1][2] He also has won fifteen ATP Challenger Tour doubles titles and seven ITF Futures doubles titles in his senior career.[3]

Personal life

Shamasdin grew up in Pickering, Ontario. His parents immigrated to Canada from Kenya.[1] He attended Brown University in Rhode Island.[4]
