Adam Wallace (born September 22, 1981 in Delta, British Columbia) is a Canadian soccer player of Jamaican heritage who last played for Western Mass Pioneers in the USL Second Division and is currently an academy coach with the Vancouver Whitecaps and a staff coach with South Delta United.
Career
College and amateur
Wallace attended Delta Secondary School and played college soccer at the University of Vermont, where he earned first team All-America East honors and was a second team All-New England selection as a senior in 2002, and was second on Vermont in scoring with seven goals and four assists leading UVM to a second-place finish in the America East.
Professional
Upon graduation, Wallace travelled to Belgium, where he was signed to a professional contract by KSV Roeselare after a successful trial in the summer of 2003. In the six games of the trial he scored two goals, and tallied his first goal against Sassport Boezinge on July 9, 2003, in his first game as a professional. After helping KSV Roeselare earn promotion to the Belgium 1st division, he was released prior to the start of the 2005/2006 season. [1]
Wallace returned to Vancouver, BC where he played with Canadian amateur side ICSF Inter in 2006 before returning to Europe where he had a brief stint with Galway United of the Irish Premier league in 2007 and then with Beijing Hongdeng in the Chinese 2nd division in 2008.[2] Wallace signed with the Western Mass Pioneers of the USL Second Division in 2009.
International
Wallace has joint Canadian and Jamaican citizenship, and has played internationally with national junior teams from both countries. He was a member of the Jamaica squad and started all matches at the FIFA 2001 World Junior Tournament in Buenos Aires, as well as representing the U-23 Olympic team in qualifying in 2003.
