Abraham Papalii (born 20 June 1993) is a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Sydney Roosters in the National Rugby League. He plays at second-row, lock and centre.

Background

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Papalii is of American Samoan descent.[2] He played his junior rugby league for the Glenora Bears as well as rugby union for the Massey Rugby Club, before being signed by the New Zealand Warriors.

Playing career

Early career

In 2013, Papalii played for the New Zealand Warriors' NYC team,[3] before graduating to their New South Wales Cup team in 2014.[4] On 10 November 2014, he signed a 2-year contract with the Sydney Roosters starting in 2015.[5]

2016

In Round 6 of the 2016 NRL season, Papalii made his NRL debut for the Roosters against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.[6][7]
