9+2 Music Pioneer Awards

9+2 Music Pioneer Awards,is a music awards show founded by Guangdong radio,which created 9+2 music pioneer radio music chart in 1987,to mainly honor Guangdong and Hongkong Cantonese scene artist and their works for the past year.9+2 is referring to the Pan-pearl river delta region that was used to be most economically dynamic area at that moment,and the same titled radio program was set to unit all main cities around Pan-pearl river delta region to promote the development of Chinese original music and politically kept connections with Hongkong and Macau after their handover.The ceremony was held and broadcast by provincial TV network since 2001.
