Building of the State Duma, until at least 2020

The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation the seventh convocation (Russian: Государственная Дума Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации седьмого созыва) is the current convocation of the lower house of Russian parliament.

The composition of the 7th State Duma was based on the results of parliamentary elections in 2016. Elections were held on a mixed system: 225 deputies are elected on party lists and 225 — in single-member constituencies. Of the 14 parties participating in the elections, only 4 were able to overcome the required 5% electoral threshold. Two parties and one independent candidate was able to pass in the state Duma in single-mandate constituencies.

Until 2020 the meeting of the Chamber will be held in the State Duma building, at the address: Moscow, Okhotny Ryad street, 1. In 2020, according to the plan, the State Duma (as well as the Federation Council) will have to move to a new Parliamentary Centre.[1] However, due to problems with financing, the Parliamentary Centre may not be ready in 2020, due to the transfer may be postponed to a later date.[2]
