6SigmaET is a thermal simulation tool launched by Future Facilities in 2009 [1] to offer the electronics design market a simulation software that was dedicated to the industry.[2] Future Facilities has a suite of software simulation, including tools for datacenters.[3]

Multi-Level Unstructured Solver

In 2014 developed a new solving methodology the Multi-Level Unstructured Staggered (MLUS) Solver. The unstructured solver employs a hierarchy of Cartesian grids and a face to cell connectivity graph to discretise the differential equations. The method uses a finite volume scheme with staggered variable arrangement and a pressure-based segregated iteration procedure to solve a discrete algebraic analogue of the Navier-Stokes equations.[4]

Awards

Release 9 of 6SigmaET won Product of the Year at the Engineering Simulation Show 2015.[5] 6SigmaET was a finalist in the 2015 Elektra Awards in the Design Tools and Development Software category.[6]
