The 2016 Skate America was the first of six events in the 2016–17 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a series of senior-level invitational competitions. It took place October 21–23, 2016 in Chicago, Illinois. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Skaters also earned points toward qualifying for the 2016–17 Grand Prix Final.
