2016 Fiesta Bowl (December)

The 2016 PlayStation Fiesta Bowl (December) is a college football bowl game that will be played on December 31, 2016 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This 46th Fiesta Bowl Game is a College Football Playoff semifinal with the winner of this game competing against the winner of the 2016 Peach Bowl in the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship which will take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.^[1] It will be one of the 2016–17 bowl games that will conclude the 2016 FBS football season. Sponsored by gaming console PlayStation, the game is officially known as the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. The winner of the game will receive the Fiesta Bowl Trophy.^[2]

The game will be televised on ESPN with a radio broadcast on ESPN Radio.

It will be the second game to be called "the 2016 Fiesta Bowl", as the previous season's game was played on January 1, 2016. The previous two Fiesta Bowls were also played in the same calendar year as each other.
