2014 All-Australian team

The 2014 All-Australian team represents the best performed Australian Football League (AFL) players in the 2014 season. It was announced on Tuesday, 16 September 2014, as a complete Australian rules football team of 22 players. The team is honorary and does not actually play any games.

Selection panel

The All Australian selection panel were Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Mark Evans, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Warren Tredrea.

Matt Priddis won the 2014 Brownlow Medal but didn't make the final 22 in the All-Australian team. It's the first time this has happened since 2000, when Melbourne's Shane Woewodin won the Brownlow without making the team.

Initial squad

While Melbourne was the only club not to receive a nomination, co-captain Nathan Jones was considered unlucky given 2014 was his best season statistically.[2]
