The 2013 LFL Canada Season would have been the second season of LFL Canada and the sixth season of the combined history of the Legends Football League and its predecessor, the Lingerie Football League. LFL Canada featured four teams in four cities across Western Canada. For the 2013 season the Calgary Fillies were replace the suspended Toronto Triumph; Calgary joined the BC Angels, Regina Rage and the Saskatoon Sirens as the four teams in LFL Canada.

The 2013 regular season was scheduled to begin on September 13, 2013 and conclude on November 9, 2013. The LFL Canada Legends Cup was scheduled to be played on November 16, 2013 at Stampede Corral in Calgary, Alberta.[1]

Developments

On June 27, 2013, the 2013 LFL Canada schedule was released. It was announced that a Calgary, Alberta would join the LFL and be known as the Calgary Fillies. Home games would be played at the Stampede Corral.[2] As well, the LFL announced that the Toronto Triumph would suspend operations for the 2013 season, ostensibly due to arena concerns.[3]

On September 11, 2013, Ticketmaster has been notifying ticket holders in Saskatoon that the team's first home game against Calgary has been cancelled. No reasons were given for the cancellation, nor a rescheduled date was provided.

Legends Football League has later moved the schedule kick-off to October 5th and then afterwards released an article stating the 2013 Season has been cancelled. Preparation time for the teams due to three new coaching staffs (all except Saskatoon) and league office not being prepared ahead of time with USA players being available to practice with Canadian teams were the reasons given for the delay and subsequent cancellation of the season. The League has said that 2014 preparations are underway and better preparation by the league will be provided for the subsequent season.

In July 2014, LFL announced that Canada and US would no longer be separate. It was announced that as of January, US and Canada will be joined by Mexico and form LFL North America.
