- 16 December - Olta Boka is selected to represent Albania at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Zemrën e lamë peng". She is selected to be the fifth Albanian Eurovision entry during Festivali i Këngës 46 held at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana.
