1991 Topps Devon White

This a list with brief descriptions of Topps trading card products for 1991. All cards listed are standard size (2½ × 3½ inches). Exceptions are noted.

Baseball

Base Set

The 1991 Topps set totals 792 cards and was issued in wax, rack, jumbo packs, vending boxes or factory sets. Subsets include Future Stars, Record Breakers, All-Stars, First Draft Picks, Checklists, and Manager cards. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Traded Set

The Traded set totals 132 cards and was issued in wax packs or as a factory set. The cards are identical in appearance to the base set with two exceptions. The traded set uses a different color palette for the gradient design than is found in the base set and the factory set cards were printed in Ireland on white cardstock in while the Pennsylvania printed cards from the wax packs were printed on a gray backed cardstock. This set featured traded players, managers, rookie cards, and Team United States cards. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Glossy All-Stars

This set totals 22 cards and was available as an insert in 1991 Topps rack packs. The back says All-Star Game Commemorative Set and includes the players name, position and league. There are 11 cards each for the American and National League All-Star teams. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Glossy Rookies

This set totals 33 cards and was available as an insert in 1991 Topps jumbo packs. The back says Rookies Commemorative Set and includes the players name, position and team. The cards slightly resemble the Glossy All-Star set. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Topps East Coast National

This set features 4 reprint cards of Aaron, Mantle, Musial, and Robinson. They were available at the 1991 national baseball card convention. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Wax Box Cards

The "Box Bottom" cards were featured 4 to a box on the bottom of the wax pack boxes of 1991 Topps of which there were 4 different boxes for a total of 16 cards. They resemble the base cards except for having a career milestones on the back instead of full statistics and a yellow border instead of white. The set is lettered A-P rather than numbered. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in. when individually cut out.

Topps Debut '90

This Major League Debut set has 171 total cards and was issued as a factory set. The cards chronicle a player' s first appearance, they are otherwise similar in appearance to the regular issue. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Bowman

The 1991 Bowman set has 704 cards and was issued in wax packs and factory sets. Subsets include Rod Carew Tribute, Minor League MVP's, AL/NL Silver Sluggers, and Checklist cards. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Stadium Club

Archives 1953

The 1991 Topps Archives set is a reprint of the original 1953 Topps set. All 274 original cards with the exception of Billy Loes #174 are included in the set. This set has also been extended by 57 cards as well as being reformatted from their original size of 2 58 × 3 34 in. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Other sets

Traded Brooks Robinson Bronze Metal replica of his 1957 Topps card available to dealers who purchased a Topps Traded case. Size: 1¼ × 1¾ inches.
Gallery of Champions (12) This set is metal ingot replicas of regular issue cards in 1/4 scale of twelve players who won major awards done in three variations: aluminum, bronze and sterling silver. The Rickey Henderson card has a fourth variation in pewter given to dealers who bought sets. The sets were issued as complete sets in special display cases. Size: 1¼ × 1¾ inches.
Joe Garagiola This promotional card has a color photo of Joe Garagiola on the front using a 1973 Topps design while the back resembles a 1976 Topps card. Similar to the 1976 version the 1991 edition mentions the Today show on front and back. Size: 2½ × 3½ inches.
Babe Ruth (11) These cards were released on a limited basis in honor of the TV movie about Babe Ruth. The cards feature scenes from the movie while the back, done in horizontal format, describes the scene. Size: 2½ × 3½ inches.
1953 Archives Promos (9) The promo set featured seven cards reprinted from the original 1953 set and included two of the new 1953 style cards which were included in the regular archives issue. The fronts are the same as the regular Archives while the backs are white with red Archives logo and say 'Pre-production Sample'.
Superstar Stand-Ups (36) This is a test set sold in a color printed paper envelope. They are a hard plastic container filled with candy. The containers are done in bright translucent colors and are shaped in a manner resembling head and shoulders A paper label attached to the front of the plastic has a player photo with team name in a banner above and his name in a strip at the bottom. Backs have a baseball design on the label with the Topps 40th anniversary logo at the top. Size: 2-1/16 × 2-9/16 inches.
Golden Spikes Award Topps produced 600 cards of Mike Kelly of Arizona State, winner of the Golden Spikes Award as the outstanding amateur baseball player of the year. The cards were distributed at the US baseball federation awards banquet on November 20, 1991. Size: 2½ × 3½ inches.
1992 Pre-Production (9) Topps distributed an uncut sheet as a preview of its 1992 set. The nine player card are identical to the issued version while the backs, with different numbering, lack the 1991 statistics and have an orange oval that says '1992 Pre-Production Sample'. Size: 8 × 10 inches.

Football

Base set

This year's football set was the largest to date, totaling 660 cards, and was issued in wax and rack packs and factory sets. The cards share their design with this year's baseball regular issue above. Subsets include Highlights, league leaders, checklists, and team cards. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

1000 Yard Club

This set totals 18 glossy cards and were issued as inserts in the football wax packs. The 'members of the club' are players who gained 1000 yards or more during the season by rushing or receiving. The back of the cards list the total yardage gained by the player in each game of the season. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Bowman

Bowman returned to football with a 561 card set which was issued in wax packs and factory sets. The fronts share their design with this year's baseball issue while the backs more closely resemble those of the 1955 set. Subsets include Rookie Superstars, League Leaders, and Road to Super Bowl XXV. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Stadium Club

This set totals 500 cards and was issued in 12-card packs. The cards resemble the baseball version which are borderless color action photos and feature the player's Topps rookie card on the back. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Ice hockey

Base Set

The 1991-92 Topps hockey set totals 528 cards and was issued in wax packs and factory sets. The cards have a similar design to the baseball issue except the team logo is over a hockey stick projecting out of the border as though about to be hit like a puck. The backs feature career and playoff stats and game winning goals from the previous season. Subsets include Team Cards, Highlights, Super Rookies and Guy Lafleur Tributes. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Team Scoring Leaders

This is a 21-card insert set found one per wax pack. The fronts have a photo of the top scorer from each team while the backs list the top ten point leaders for the respective team. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Bowman

Bowman's hockey offering totals 429 cards and like the Topps set was also available as a factory set. The action photos on the front are white bordered with blue and tan frames and the player's name is in a purple bar under the photo. The backs are multicolored offering the season stats broken down by performance against opposing teams. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Stadium Club

The 'TSC' set has 400 cards with borderless full-bleed glossy color player photos. The player's name is at the bottom in a gold bordered aqua stripe. The card backs are horizontally oriented with a drawing of a hockey rink as a background. Also featured are 'The Sporting News Hockey Scouting Report' and a small photo of the player's first Topps card. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Multi-Sport

Stadium Club Charter Member

This set was available to people who joined Topps Stadium Club. The cards look like the regular issues of Stadium Club except for the words 'Charter Member' printed in gold at the bottom. Issued as a 50-card factory set the breakdown by sport is Baseball 1-32, Football 33-41, Hockey 42-50. Size: 2.5 × 3.5 in.

Stadium Club Members Only

Available as a boxed set to Stadium Club members this set offers 50-cards of players from baseball, football, basketball, and hockey. The cards look like the regular issues of Stadium Club except for the words 'Members Only' printed in gold at the bottom.
