Summary

Gilbey's Gin landed in the finals of the revived All-Filipino Conference, after a two-year absence of the league's most prestigious tournament, losing to powerhouse Crispa Redmanizers via three-game sweep in the best-of-five series.

The Gimlets were powered by their returning import, the high-scoring Lew Massey in the Reinforced Conference. Gilbey's had an even 7-7 won-loss slate in the eliminations and won all three of their quarterfinal matches. [1] In the semifinal round, the Gimlets create a triple tie with Crispa and Great Taste for the finals berth. The Redmanizers made it to the finals outright with a higher quotient while Gilbey's lost to Great Taste in a playoff match.

"Sweet Lew" was reinstated three games into the Open Conference, replacing Anthony Roberts after Gilbey's dropped their first two outings. [2] Massey team up with Jacky Dorsey as Gilbey's again figured in a finals playoff berth with all four semifinalist tied at 3 wins and 3 losses. The Gin Tonics fell short of advancing in the championship round, denied by Great Taste Coffee Makers for the second time in the season, they placed fourth in the second and third conferences.
