The 27th Cannes Film Festival was held on May 9 - 24, 1974. The Palme d'Or went to The Conversation by Francis Ford Coppola.[3][4]

The festival opened with Amarcord, directed by Federico Fellini and closed with S*P*Y*S, directed by Irvin Kershner.[5][6][7]
