Čelinac (Serbian Cyrillic: Челинац) is a town and municipality in north-west Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The municipality lies about 15 km (9 mi) to the east of the city of Banja Luka.

Geography

It is located between municipalities of Laktaši and Prnjavor to the north, Teslić to the east, Kotor Varoš, Skender Vakuf / Kneževo to the south, and Banja Luka to the west.

In the municipality of Čelinac you can also find the villages Štrbe (main village in the municipality of Čelinac), Jošavka, Snjegotina, and Grabovac. Serbs are the overwhelming majority in these villages, as a great number of the natives of these villages have emigrated to Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Slovenia, because of a high degree of poverty in this municipality.

The Stuplje monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church is located in the municipality.
