Cachiros is a Honduran drug cartel and criminal organization. It was founded in the early 1990s by a group of cattle-ranchers in the Olancho-Colón departments of Honduras.[1]

In January 2015, Cachiros leader Javier Maradiaga, also known as "Javier Cachiro", turned himself in to the U.S. Embassy in Honduras and plead guilty to drug trafficking charges in trial.[2] Honduran officials seized between $500 million to $800 million following Javier's actions, though the Cachiros are believed to have a net worth of over $1 billion.
